I'm going to try and do a basic overview of what I've missed for the last few months. So, I'm starting with Halloween! Jordyn and Maegan both wanted to be scary this year. I’m more concerned about them being warm. Jordyn originally wanted to be a corpse bride but I wasn’t able to find that costume. Luckily I was able to find a “Zombie Prom Queen” costume that she really liked and I was also able to find a long sleeve gray shirt that worked with the costume. Maegan wanted to be a “vampire girl” and I had no problems finding her a costume. I was also able to find a long sleeve black sweater that worked with her costume so both goals were accomplished! Brooklen is still little enough that she doesn’t really have a say in what she wears so I picked out Maegan’s old Carebear costume so she would be nice and warm. She was ornery at first but then she was really happy and actually wore the costume around for a few days. The other thing I decided to try was having a Halloween party instead of just Trick-or-Treating. I figured we’d use this as an experiment and then we can make some adjustments in the future. So, the girls invited all of the girls in their school and/or primary classes. We had a few RSVP’s so I was really excited. We planned the menu, bought treats for the gift bags and were ready to go. On Halloween we went to a few houses and then headed home. The problem was that only a few girls actually showed up. I figured that would happen but luckily Jordyn and Maegan had a great time. Sean’s parents, Roy and Bonnie, wanted to see the girls in their costumes so they came over for a little while and we are able to catch up. By about 10:30 Maegan and Brooklen were passed out and Jordyn ended up going to her friend’s house to sleep over. All in all it turned out to be a good night. Over the next few days I had a lot of apologies from moms that said they were planning on the party but their girls were just too tired to make it. So, next year I think we’ll still have a party but have it on a different night.
